Best dog training in Sacramento or elsewhere sometimes involves doggie boot camp instead of attendance at a dog obedience group class.

What is the best dog training method?

IMG_8988 (2)

It is not about which is a better or faster method.

We teach dog owners how to have wonderful relationship with their pets where there is a lot of petting, affection and hanging out together—without behavior problems.

The best dog training method is the one that actually works.  Before you spend a lot of money, you better make sure the dog training method actually works.

There is no in-between with VALIDITY. Something does what they say it can, or it does not.

There is no in-between with RELIABILITY.  Something works over and over, or it does not.

There is no in-between with INTEGRITY. Someone is really who they say they are, or they are not.

David Baron Superdog

Either someone can substantiate that the dog training method actually works or they cannot.  There is no in-between.

Either someone has 1000′s of photos of 100′s of dogs they trained to substantiate that it works, OR THEY DO NOT.

If you are considering hiring a dog trainer in Sacramento or where you live, you need to ask if the dog training method will actually work with your dog, or make your dog’s behavior problems even worse.

If you think the gals at the park calling themselves dog trainers and bribing dogs with food or using shock collars for everything will work to get your dog trained or under control, hire them.  You will be happier with their dog training method and they charge a lot less than we do anyway.

david baron dog trainers superdog roseville, ca

Legitimate dog training methods don’t bribe with food.

Shock collars, a dog training tool of last resort, are not supposed to be a dog training method, nor a substitute for having a relationship.

Having a relationship is not about dominating or correcting your dog.

THINK ABOUT IT – David Baron is the only dog trainer in North America with 1000′s of photos of small dogs off-leash.

There is no time to run back in the house and get the treats before your dog runs in the street and gets run over by a car.

David Baron Roseville, CA

Who wants a dog that won’t behave unless you bribe it with food anyway?

dogs by swimming pool

Small breeds are usually more stubborn, defiant and harder to train than large breeds, especially if they have been spoiled.

dogs and cat

Food-Bribery does absolutely nothing to control bad puppy behavior.

Food-Bribery won’t work to control separation anxiety, destructive chewing and virtually every other behavior problem dog owners face.

There is something better. . . . . .

Which Dog Training Collar Should I Use?

dogsWhich Dog Training Collar Should I Use?

Dog trainers in Sacramento

Our program uses Relationship-Based Obedience as the primary training method. We think it is cruel not to train your dog and have to use collars and leashes. Dog training is all about you having a relationship with your dog and the dog responding to you. If you don’t win the dog over psychologically, all you are left with is force, compulsion and bribing with food to try and get your dog to behave.

Dog Training Sacramento

A lot of trainers and behaviorists disagree with me about what dog training collar to use.  Most dog training offered by dog trainers no more works than if you beat your dog to get it to cooperate.

BULLSHIT DETECTOR #1:  Can you show me photos of 100′s of dogs you trained that are off-leash obedient, YES or NO?

BULLSHIT DETECTOR #2:  Can you show me photos of dogs off-leash on “Stand-Stay?”  What about with four dogs like David Baron has?

We recommend you train your dog so you don’t have to use training collars. . .

Choke Chain Dog Training Device

Using choke chains, jerking hard and calling that dog training is the violent old-school. Please call us before you think you need to hurt your dog to train it and maybe cause:

1) tracheal and oesophogeal damage,

2) severely sprained necks,

3) transient foreleg paralysis,

4) recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis, and

5) hind leg ataxia.

We only would recommend a choke chain if the owner needs a collar that is the most sure bet that the dog won’t be able to slip out of or if you need to get something around a dog’s neck fast to get control. Choke chains work great on certain giant dogs with super-thick fur too dense for even a prong collar. Otherwise, choke chains are pretty much just plain wrong.

We don’t care about your Schutzhund III German Shepherd police dog. If your dog is so trained, why does he need a choke chain anyway? The bottom line is most people aren’t going to jerk the crap out of their dog because they learned as a child that violence is wrong. We are not talking about the old family dog wearing a choke chain, we are talking about compulsion trainers whose dog training method is based on correcting dogs.

NOT ALL DOGS ARE FUR BABIES There is a time and a place in dog training for the rough stuff, like to save an aggressive or dominant dog’s life. The good news is 99% of dogs don’t require trainers or owners to get really very physical at all.

Maybe you need to be honest and ask yourself if you really know what you are doing before you start jerking, choking or getting real physical with your dog.

Maybe it is not worth permanently hurting your dog.

Maybe it would cost less and the dog might not get permanently ruined if you call a professional dog trainer.

Dangerous dog head halter.

Another well-intentioned, but dangerous fad.

Don’t listen to armchair dog trainers and behaviorists, amateurs and part-time pet shop trainers. These dangerous halters come off and can cause cervical and spinal injuries to dogs if the dog lunges because it turns the head.

Veterinarians usually like Haltis and Gentle Leaders because they sell them. If the dog tries to bite, you can pull the leash and close the dog’s mouth because the halter is worn around the snout.

We feel these are unnecessary for 99.9% of dogs. They have their use however and are excellent in extremely rare instances. In our opinion, these are not so much a dog training tool but a crutch for people that do not understand animal behavior or what a dog thinks or feels.

Dog head halters are stupid because they don’t teach the dog anything, they know when it is on and off, dogs usually hate them and flip out and try and get it off, that and you risk spinal injury to your dog if you use one. What is really stupid about Haltis and Gentle Leaders is that they are not even dog training. All they are is a restraint to subdue dogs. We have seen dogs with their noses raw like hamburger from rubbing their noses on the cement to get the horrible thing off of their face.

Haltis and Gentle Leaders are analogous saying that a criminal is rehabilitated if you put handcuffs on him or her. Logic and experience tells us that as soon as you take the handcuffs off, the criminal will re-offend.

Usually the worse the dog trainer the more they use Gentle Leaders, Haltis and. . .

Yes, we know it is not a collar. The reason we mention clickers here is they are the epitome of what does not work in real life and the nonsense people need to look out for when they are hiring a dog trainer.

Somehow clickers and food works better than your voice according to someone who made minimum wage training dolphins at Sea World. So the story goes.

Do you really think your dog is even going to hear the clicker over the screeching tires of the car that is going to run over its head because you forgot the treats?

Flipper won’t defecate on your sofa.

Thousands and thousand of dolphins aren’t euthanized because they turn aggressive and do things like bite the owner or a family member in the face. People don’t get their homeowner’s insurance cancelled because of their dolphin and have to buy an Assigned Risk policy for ten years that costs three or four times as much.

Cllickers and training with food seems logical to some people. What is sad is how much more they and their dog could have had.

Pinch collars have saved many dogs lives and only should be used, if at all, for a short time just while training. They are now very popular with women, kids, seniors and people with injuries or disabilities. It only takes about 20%, or less, energy to get the same or more response from a dog wearing one versus a flat buckle collar.

Many small people with dogs bigger and stronger than them have gotten their dog trained and did not have to euthanize it because the owner kept an open mind and tried a pinch collar.

Dogs nip eachother at the neck to correct eachother, not jerk or choke. Often dog owners have their dog on a belt buckle flat collar and jerk and choke their dog a lot. Maybe it would be better to use a pinch collar and tug two times instead of ten and not be so violent with the dog.

Consult a real dog trainer, not some kid at the pet shop or side-liner holding classes in the park or at the SPCA. The pinch collar is a tool. Half of the homes we go to the client already has a pinch collar because they hear at work and from their friends that pinch collars often work good for getting hyper or very strong dogs under control. We recommend not using any collar, but you have to start somewhere. We don’t tell people which collar to use, just the ones not to use.

Almost always people who are against pinch collars have never used one. Usually these people are living in an imaginary dream world where they fantasize about getting their dog under control or off-leash obedient with lots of yummy treats from Mommy for their furry human baby.

What is mean is a dog not getting trained and left out-of-control and having to be euthanized.Usually Food-Bribery dog trainers are the first ones to tell you to destroy your dog when the treat training does not work or later on when your dog turns aggressive.

How could anyone be against something that saves many dogs lives?

The pinch collar was developed by a veterinarian as a safe and humane alternative to choke chains. Pinch collars are what you use on small dogs with easily damagable half-round tracheas like Jack Russel Terriers and Dachshunds with really delicate necks. People who say pinch collars are dangerous are wrong–pinch collars are the safest collar. Again, we say it is mean to not train your dog and have to use collars and leashes.

We recommend you train your dog so you don’t have to use training collars. . .

Like we said above. . .

Maybe it would cost less and you won’t permanently ruin your dog if you call a professional dog trainer FIRST.

We are not against electronic collars because they do save many dogs lives and are humane when used properly.

Our experience is that Joe Sixpack out with his dog on Saturday often does more harm than good and often ends up with a nervous, broken-spirited, skittish dog.

Electronic collars are supposed to be a tool of last resort for Off-Leash training and behavior modification.

Call us if you are looking for something better. . . .

Training Your German Shepherd Dog

All About Training Your German Shepherd Dog

German Shepherds are one of my favorite dogs, but they are not for everyone though.

If you want a dog that does not shed much, then you probably do not want to own a German Shepherd.

Of course, you could always brush and groom your German Shepherd to reduce the amount of shedding hair, but that would require a few minutes of work.

It may seem silly to you thinking of brushing your dog as work, but some people who own dogs do not want to do any work.

A lot of German Shepherds like to chase cats.

A lot of people tell me, “Be careful Dave, he is a cat killer,” but actually, most are cat chasers, not cat killers.

Someone forgot to tell my cats that they are supposed to be afraid of dogs and they do not run away, so dogs do not chase them.

You should not allow your dog to fixate and obsess on cats, or other small animals.  Allowing this behavior just makes them crazy and promotes not listening and being crazy.

A lot of people say German Shepherds are the best dogs.

However, the point of this website is ‘you don’t need a German Shepherd.’  I can train other breeds just as well.

For example, a Chihuahua can be trained to be just as fabulously off-leash obedient as any German Shepherd, or just as aggressive.

Chihuahuas are very protective and can be trained to bite intruders too.  Not that many people are afraid of Chihuahuas though.

Both Pit Bulls and Tibetan Mastiffs like “Belle” and “Mister Puppy,” on the left, can be very protective too, but with a German Shepherd it is easier to go from being aggressive to not aggressive.

For example, a German Shepherd police dog can drag a suspect out of an attic, then an hour later go to an elementary school for a show-and-tell. On the contrary, a Pit Bull once made aggressive generally will be aggressive to most everyone except close family members or friends.

A Tibetan Mastiff owner would not want to take their aggressive dog to an elementary school in a million years.

A lot of people hire me because they wanted a dog that was protective, but they failed to train their dog and instead their dog is aggressive to everyone, including friends, family members and neighbors.

The problem is that most peoples’ friends, family members and neighbors are not the ones robbing their house.  That, and aggressive dogs are not fun to be around.

A lot of my clients friends quit coming over to their houses a long time ago because their dogs make people worry that they are going to get bit.

If you own a German Shepherd, or any dog really, you may want to hire a professional dog behavior expert to teach you how to have a dog that is protective, but can turn the aggressiveness and protectiveness off when around “friends.”

I am a Behavioral trainer and focus on training for temperament and quality-of-interactions.

I can help you to have a dog that is protective, but not a jerk to your friends, family and neighbors.

A lot of dog trainers focus on getting dogs to do commands like “Sit.”

Teaching “Sit” is kind of a waste of time in my opinion if the dog is aggressive because there is not going to be a whole lot of “Sit” when a dog is aggressive because they are so focused on being aggressive.

The distinction here is that there is a difference between a trained dog taught to be aggressive and one taught to stop being aggressive on command. Again, the difference is a trained dogs versus a dog that is crazy and just being protective and/or aggressive solely out of instinct or fear.

With a trained dog you can turn off the aggression like flipping a switch.

99% of the dog training being sold to the public does not work and is a waste of money.

That is why NONE of my competitors has 1000′s of photos and videos of trained dogs to substantiate that their training actually works.

No one would hire a home improvement contractor with no photos of kitchens, bathrooms and roofs.  Everyone has a camera on their cellphone.  There are no excuses  Either a dog trainer can show you 100′s of different dogs they trained or you cannot.  There is no in-between.

References from well-meaning people and friends is not the same thing as showing prospective clients 100′s of dogs they trained.

I like my training because there is a lot of petting, affection, friendship and hanging out together.

Everyone says they can train dogs, but that is not the case or everyone would have photos like I do to prove it and substantiate their claims of efficacy.

Better to hire the best dog trainer the first time and not waste money on something that is not going to work.

A dog trainer’s website is their best foot forward.  What does it say when the website does not show many dogs off-leash trained?  It says someone thinks you are stupid and do not know any better.  They collect your money up-front and then when you complain they say it is your fault or that your dog can’t be trained and should be euthanized.

Again, 99% of dog training is a waste of money and the trainers are basically taking dog owners’ money without delivering much of anything in exchange.

I made this website so prospective clients would not need to believe me or trust me that the training actually works.

The level of obedience you see in my photos and videos are typical results that you can expect if you hire me or one of my trainers.

Good dog training is one of the best investments one can make in their family and home life.

Dogs are much happier trained and so are their owners.

Whether you own a German Shepherd of a scruffy little dog or other breed, training will make you and your dog much happier.

Sometimes you get lucky in life and things turn out better than you ever could have imagined, and ultimately the the price you pay is small compared to the alternatives.

When The People Change, Dog Problems End

aggressive pit bull image

Usually the folks who seem to do best with dog training, in business, and in life, are remarkably normal, well-adjusted and present themselves as mature and emotionally stable.

checkmark2 They usually seem happy and content and act like they are going to have a wonderful day–regardless of what other people say or do.

checkmark2 They don’t yell, scream or get angry a lot.

checkmark2 They try to be a good neighbor and citizen.

checkmark2 They value opinions differing from their own.

checkmark2 Everyone pretty much knows what is expected of them and accepts responsibility.

checkmark2 They try to be flexible and non-judgmental when  others fail to meet their expectations.

checkmark2 They try to be fair and admit mistakes.

checkmark2 They seem relax through life and are not so serious all the time.

checkmark2 They usually live quietly without a whole lot of drama.

The point is that nice, calm people often don’t have a whole lot of dog behavior problems like some people do–just by virtue of that they don’t have all the craziness, yelling and people and kids screaming making their dogs bonkers and neurotic.

If you want your dog to be mellow and calm, you may face a formidable obstacle if you live in a funhouse or with screaming, wild kids.

Many times when peoples’ children have Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) the family dog suffers from it too. Coincidentally, dog owners often going through marital or financial problems report that their dogs have become aggressive, edgy and/or defiant.

training pits image

The moral here is that if you want your dog to be happy, calm and friendly, the first thing to do is be a happy, calm and friendly person yourself.

Hopefully, you can get family or housemates to be happy, calm and friendly people too, if they are not already so.

If being well and wonderful still doesn’t seem to be enough to get your dog trained, call us when you have a few minutes to chat about dog training.

We look forward to hearing from you.

What makes our dog training method different is that what we do is mostly about getting the people to change their behavior to influence the dog.

Often people make a few minor changes in what they do in regard to their dog and see a big difference in the dog’s behavior immediately.

Definitely pick up the telephone if you like what you see in my pictures and videos.  We are trying to be the best one and give people good service.

Whether you hire me, or one of my trainers in other cities, the training works just like you see in the photos and videos.

I made this website so you would not have to believe me or trust me that the training works.  The point of this website is you don’t need a German Shepherd.  If you have a Beagle, Husky, a Yorkie, whatever dog you have, we can train your dog to the same level of obedience on and off-leash.

Don’t be shy.  The training works like a peach.  The best money you will ever spend.

Border Collies and Huskies

Border collie image

“Buddy Wong” the three-legged Border Collie has a one-in-a-million personality and matching attitude.

We miss Buddy the Border Collie and think about him often even though it has been many years now since he visited.

Like amazing people, certain dogs make the world a better place. When they pass, the world will never be as good or seem the same again.

There was a place in time and it was so good that all we can hope for now is something better.

There never will be anything the same as that one perfect instant in time.

“Rudy” the old Border Collie on the far right was aggressive for many years. Cancerous tumors tumors the size of grapefruits were removed and he was no longer aggressive and lived out his 14-year life. Rudy passed away on October 18, 2010.

“Mister Wilson” the Dalmation/Mastiff on the far right was a regular at DogAnswers for years. All the veterinarians, dog trainers and behaviorists said he could not be trained. He was totally aggressive and dangerous even wearing a muzzle because he was so powerful and determined.

After the second lesson Mister Wilson had a total conversion and was not aggressive again until he died about six years later on June 7, 2011. We loved taking care of him when his owner went on long trips as he was never any problem. Surely, he is in Heaven with Jesus and his dogs now. We hope to join him one day a long time from now.

Beautiful Huskies image

May 23, 2012. ”Happy Puppy” the Siberian Husky died from cancer yesterday. He was the best dog anyone could ever hope to have. He brought me a lot of happiness and joy. I got him during an unhappy time in my life. Then it was ‘at least someone will be Happy.’ It was amazing how things went from totally hopeless to unbelievably wonderful in a short period of time though. I’ll miss Happy, but am so grateful to have been blessed by him.

Even if you live in an apartment and have one dog, we teach you how to get the same results as us.

Little Dogs Being Good!

Best Small Dog Trainers

“Lilly” the Maltese is about two years old and “Roxy” the Maltese-Papillon mix is 10 years old. This is their first day of training.

That little dogs are good and don’t bark incessantly was an issue.

What you see here is pretty good considering Lilly and Roxy were big zeros and had no training prior to today.

Teaching little dogs “Down” can be a hardsell with them refusing to do it and throwing a fit. No one took pictures of that.

“Kyla” the Ibizan is a good girl too.

“Mister Puppy” and the little dogs are exhausted from all the obedience.

Lilly and Roxy no longer lose their minds and go insane whern they see cats. In just a few hours time they learned cats are good and we love them.

The animals are always attracted to the grave stone for some reason.

Lily and Roxy learn to trust that being obedient is a much better way of living.

We are glad that people bring us their little dogs for training.

Siberian Huskies are good and we love them a lot too.

Small Dogs Being Good image

We love our little dogs and there is a lot of affection and petting.

Dogs in the Pool image

The point of this website is you don’t need a German Shepherd or large breed to have a well-trained companion animal.

Whether you need a service dog, a great house pet or an obedient traveling companion, no one gets better results with small dogs or loves them more.

Don’t sell your little dog short. Again, everything you can train a German Shepherd to do you can do with a Chihuahua or other small dog breed.

Superdog’s behavioral training program is not as much about commands as it is about improving the quality of interractions and temperament.

Chihuahuas sink like lead weights and are not buoyant at all should they fall in.

No one is better at potty training small dogs.

Superdog is a behavioral trainer and focuses on temperament and interactions.

Superdog gets the same results with small and toy breeds as we do with large dogs.

Believe it or not, some toy breeds and little dogs are so vicious that they would try to kill a Rottweiler. If they were the size of other dogs they would be the most vicious thing on the planet.

Call us and don’t listen to people who tell you that your dog can’t be trained and that you need to euthanize it.

We get great results with fearful, reactive and territorial small dogs.

Little dogs are often a dichotomy because they are so lovable on the one hand, but can be so aggressive on the other. Almost every dog on this page was aggressive.

A superdog trainer can help you if your little dog has anxiety, aggression, or is fearful or extremely reactive.

For dogs that are fairly normal, happy and well adjusted, we can help you achieve a model citizen who is reliable everywhere, everytime, with everyone—on or off of a leash.

These are typical results most dog owners can expect with our program.

Satisfying interractions with others is the reward.

Even if you live in an apartment and have one dog, we teach you how to get the same results as us.

“I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who’s ever lived: I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough.”

Amazing behavioral results regardless of size and age.

Training your Goldendoodle

Hagen the 15-week Labradoodle is a really great puppy and has come a long way in a very short time.

Hagen was a little unruly at first but is taking to the structure and order well.

Hagen is learning it isn’t just all about him.

It is a lot more fun being part of something greater than yourself…

. . . with someone even greater than yourself.

That there is a new puppy in the yard makes the ball even more enjoyable for Archie the Border Collie.

Hagen learned a couple obedience commands today too.

“Sit-Stay, “No” and “Leave It”

“Down” and “Down-Stay”

“Zoey” the dog on the left just got here a few hours ago from China and didn’t even know sit.  In addition to “Sit” and “Down,”  She will even hold a “Stand-Stay” now.

Doing the right thing is a little scary at first, but doing the right thing is a reward in itself.

It is hard to take a bad photograph of Hagen.

Another hot day at the pool.

Hagen and Rocco enjoy the rock.

All the obedience can get really tiring.

Rocco really loves the ball. . . .

. . . and the flipflop.

Rocco and his love child Cindy.

Hagen has really gone from crayons to perfume in a short time.

Everything in life worth having has a price. Sometimes you get lucky though and things turn out better than you ever could have imagined, and ultimately the price you pay is small compared to what you get.

Tai-2There sure are some beautiful ones with vivid colors.

Tai-3You could say Winter is an ugly, dark time.

Taqi-4There is always something beautiful to look at if you look hard enough though.

Dave The Dog Trainer

Just like Santa Claus lives at the North Pole and has reindeer and elves, I too cheerfully accept my fate dog training in Roseville, CA.

Dave the Dog Trainer

I am able to get most any dog to listen to its owner off-leash, and am able to help the most difficult and/or aggressive dogs.

Other people train dogs too, but my clients are getting the same results as I do.

I used to not know anything about dogs, but had the fortune to learn from the greatest dog trainer and behavioral expert ever.

The person was there for me when I needed him the most. Now, I am here for others.

I get the same Off-Leash results with small dogsPit BullsHuskies and even sighthounds not just German Shepherds and Rottweilers.

off-leash training image

Like any endeavor in life, with the right attitude you always have the right voice, body language, posture and timing.

I am not a “Dog Whisperer.” That implies one has an innate and extraordinary ability with dogs. Some peoples’ dogs respect, trust and respond to them because the person has been taught certain things.

What I teach is mostly about a method with a curriculum.

Personally, I am very pragmatic and get bored easily when things don’t work. I’m from the school of either it works or it doesn’t.

Dogs seem much happier with a strong, confident owner that looks and acts like a leader to them.

I am not the kind of dog trainer who will tell you that our way is the only way, and that everyone else is wrong. I will tell you everything everybody else is doing too if you want; however, I will recommend what works and gets results.

This video has 500+ photos of dogs I trained.

I like my Superdog program because it works and we love the dogs and there is a lot of petting and friendship.

Dave the Dog Trainer

I personally guarantee the results you see in these pictures with your dog too if you do what we say and practice a few minutes every day.

“Jayden” the Husky/Basenji mix had become aggressive to all animals. Her owner Dana is a Navy anti-submarine warfare specialist and is being deployed to Iraq in May and friends will be taking care of Jayden during that time.

The concern was that Dana’s friends have their own dogs and that Jayden would not get along with them.

Dana searched for dog trainers in Seattle but while there were dozens of dog trainers, there was no competent canine behavioral trainers qualified to assist with her dog’s aggression problem.

Xmas-3Dana was very motivated to do the right thing for Jayden and determined to get her help.

Dave the Dog Trainer’s Superdog program in Sacramento was only 800 miles away.

Xmas-5Dana was rewarded for being willing to honor her commitment to her best friend.

Xmas-6People who do the right thing are always rewarded because doing the right thing is a reward in itself.

Xmas-7Dana worked hard with Jayden during her 3 1/2 days in Sacramento.

C Bar C Dog Park imageJayden is an animal with a mind of her own, but Dana is confident now that a properly managed and trained Jayden can be in the presence of, and interract with, other pets.

Dealing with Pit Bulls

Probably a lot of people will want to rush out and get a Pit Bull or a Rottweiler after seeing this page.

No one would steal your toddler with Rocco in the house.

Dale is really good too. Look at how beautiful and shiny his coat is. He is about three-years-old and has an awesome personality and loves boating and camping.

Teva is a very smart, athletic dog with a great attitude and temperament.

This group of dogs swims about six times every day and are pretty good at their job.

The female Rottweiler has more horsepower than the male Pit Bulls and Chesapeake and Labrador Retrievers.

Rocco gets tired after awhile and decides he has had enough. Bunker the Chesapeake Retriever got a hold of the ball and can be seen swimming in circles with his crew in tow. The dogs like swimming in tandem and it makes them feel like they are on the hunt.

The Superdogs are a well-integrated hunting group and all get along.

THE LEAST EXPENSIVE DOG TRAINERS are always going to be the ones with photographs to prove their training actually works.

Rocco is a good boy, a mellow, loving, quiet kind of dog.

Pit Bulls make wonderful family pets, will look out for small children, and are a lot of fun when trained.

You don’t have to worry about anyone stealing your children, or anything else, with a Pit Bull around.

dog in the air image

A lot of people condemn their Pit Bulls to death when they fail to train them though.

dogs chasing frisbee image

No one cares that you love your Pit Bull and it is the most wonderful, gentle, affectionate animal if it is not trained and acts aggressively—much less so if it kills a dog or cat, or bites someone.

It is not that Pit Bulls are an aggressive breed.

Pit Bull are Terriers and Terriers have a tendency to take everything to the extreme. If they are happy, they are really happy, If they want something, they really want it. If they turn aggressive, they are really aggressive and really scary.

Choosing the right kind of training for your Pit Bull or Bully Breed is critical for long-term success.

Training based on rewards and punishments generally does not work.

Doing cute pet tricks and asking the dog to “Sit” and giving it treats will do nothing to control INSTINCT and GENETICS.

Compulsion training based on corrections and using shock collars often makes Pit Bulls and other Bully Breeds even more aggressive.

Niki Taylor image

Sending your dog away to a boarding facility probably won’t work either because almost always it is the owner who really needs the training.

BE AFRAID of anyone who wants to takes your dog away from you to train it.

What is different about the Superdog programs is we teach you how to have a relationship with your dog based on RESPECT and TRUST so you will be able to control your dog’s instinct and genetics.

blooming almond trees image

Most dog training is totally ineffective and a total waste of money. That is why 99% of the dog trainer websites do not show trained dogs to substantiate the trainers’ competence.

No one hires contractors who don’t have pictures of kitchens, bathrooms and roofs.

The Superdog method is based on having a relationship and the dogs doing things for the right reason. There is a lot of love, affection, friendship, petting, and playtime.

Niki Taylor image

We don’t hang out with our dogs and “Sit,” “Down,” “Stay,” “Come, “Heel.”

Mostly, there is no command and you don’t have to say anything. The dogs are not aggressive, don’t chase cats, not pushy, whiny, manipulative, controlling and they listen to the owners.
