This is Dollie, a Miniature Australian Shepherd trained as a therapy dog. She’s calm, sweet, and very well-behaved—exactly what a therapy dog needs to be. Her owner took her to hospitals, retirement homes, and schools, where she brought joy and comfort to many people. Unlike a service dog, which is trained to assist one person, a therapy dog is trained to interact gently and confidently with many different people. That requires a special temperament, solid obedience, and calm energy in busy environments….

This is Tucker—a Jack Russell Terrier someone wanted trained as a service dog. Cute, smart, high energy… and completely wrong for the job. Jack Russells are reactive, territorial, and intense. It’s like they’re always on high alert. That might be fine for some pet owners, but when you’re looking at service dogs for sale, that’s not what you want—especially not for someone with a psychiatric or medical disability….
