This is “Boshay Popo ” the Tibetan Mastiff show dog. He does a great behavioral “Heel” following Dave the Dog Trainer and is a really good boy.

Boshay is a really good dog, but was very fearful of certain things like people grabbing him.

Boshay likes DaveTheDogTrainer and other men, but seems more comfortable with women.

Boshay is learning to trust and forgetting about whatever happened to him before. Boshay can’t say what happened, but he doesn’t need to.

Boshay does all the commands and hangs out in the house with us a lot. He is very gentle with the kitties and small dogs too.

Boshay has made a lot of progress since he came to stay with us.

Please also view “ALL ABOUT OFF-LEASH TRAINING” for our latest OFF LEASH OBEDIENCE methodology information.

The idea is to get your dog to listen to you.

How well your dog responds to you is directly proportional to your ability to engage him or her. Mostly, you engage your dog with your attitude which is reflected in your voiceYour voice alone should be enough to engage your dog.

If your dog does not focus on you, then you will probably not be able to engage your dog and get him to be calm or obey commands.

Your ability to get your dog to respond to you is directly proportional to what your dog thinks of you as a person. Speaking with authority and conviction are imperative if you want dogs, or people, to respect and trust you.

You mostly want to focus on getting the dog to listen to your voice by practicing first with little things like stop sniffing, playing, whatever with nothing more than a, “Hey, Hey,” or clearing your throat. Some people have a special unique sound they use for each of their dogs. You start with little things, then work up to the big things. This is what we call Passive Obedience versus Active Obedience which is working on obedience commands.

You don’t need to train your dog to do everything but to simply just be obedient, the rest follows. Either dogs are obedient or they are not.

The words you use are not so important, but the tone, pitch, volume and intensity you use are. Dogs only have a few dog words, “Woof Woof, Bark Bark and Whine Whine.” We are not dogs and even we usually can tell what they are whining or barking about. Most people calling dog trainers are remarkably monotone.

Everything sounds the same. Some are baby-talkers while others are screamers. The answer is to make your voice match the intention and be rich in emotional content.

The more training a dog has, the more it will pick up on subtle nuances in your intention. The better a trainer is, the more their voice will be rich with emotional content. One little sound out of the trainer’s mouth can control six dogs or more. This is what we are doing here at DogAnswers Ranch and what our trainers teach people in their homes in seven states now.

What makes our program a lot different is that it is mostly about the people. Who you are to your dog is what matters most. Respect and trust are paramount.

Being together still and calm with people or other dogs teaches cohesiveness and about being a small part of something big.

The dogs focus on being together with the “On The Bed” command rather than just not moving as with “Stay.”

For Off-Leash obedience, many dogs need to be taught to stick close. It is hard to get Off-Leash compliance if the dog does not know how to relax and hang out indefinitely first.

Think of it this way: Off-leash obedience away from the house is “Stay” together with me indefinitely and do what I say.

What most people really want who call for dog training is to be able to hang out with their dog. “Down-Stay” while your on the computer or the kids are doing their homework is how you teach your dog to be mellow.

It is not that your dog knows something, but that you are working with him/her. It is not about the commands or even the quality of the interraction you have with your dog; it is WHO YOU ARE TO YOUR DOG, a real somebody your dog lives for at-your-service. How do you get that you ask? The only way we know is you getting out the leash, if necessary, and making your dog “Stay” for a couple hours a day while you watch TV, are on the computer, or talking with friends.

For this to be effective though you will need to follow through with the “Stay” command 100% of the time no matter what. No matter what you cannot let the dog break the command or you must take the dog back immediately and back the dog down so it stays and does not move even if you walk away. Forget leash corrections, penny cans and spray bottles, you need to be able to literally look your dog in the eye and have him know that you are not taking NO for an answer and aspire to back up everything you say, especially “Down-Stay.”

In the spiritual realm your tools are love, praise, affection, fun and friendship. In the physical world you have your voice, attitude, posture, body language and hand signals to get your dog to do things for you.

Look closely at the dogs’ faces and eyes.

“Stay” is the one where you find out if your dog respects you or not.

It’s not just about another command, “Stay” creates a lot of tension and makes dogs want to be with you and come when you call. “Stay” is the opposite of “Come” and many dogs have a hard time with “Come” unless they learn “Stay” first.

The Most Important Command

The most important and first skill that needs to be mastered is to get your dog to go away from you. Some people use “Out,” we use “Go On.” For many dogs, there will be no “Stay” or “Heel” or stopping jumping without the owner being able to get the dog to go away first.

The clients who call and say they are having problems with “Come” and “Stay” are usually the same people who forgot all about “Go On” and failed to notice that “Go On” is the #1 item at the top the homework sheet. If the dog breaks “Stay” or “Heel,” you need to be able to challenge your dog back to the spot or to get behind you.

Think of it as a triad: Go Away-Stay-Come What you are doing is controlling where the dog is. Dog owners that can’t get their dog to go away from them are like people with cars with no reverse gear.

If you are having problems with not getting your dog to retract away from from you when appropriate, it could because your dog is hard-headed, dominant, controlling, was taken out of the litter prematurely and never, or inadequately, learned inhibition during the early development.

People often say their dog does all the command perfectly, but also say they have no control over their dog when it matters or when it gets aggressive. The problem is they ineffectively challenge their dog and have an animal that knows it can hold its ground and blow off the owner. “GO On” teaches dogs that they need to take you seriously or there will be immediate consequences and you will take action unless they do what you say immediately.

“Go On” is primal and essential if you want a dog that respects your personal space, is not pushy and controlling, listens off-leash, and listens off-leash with distractions.

The dogs with Separation Anxiety are in distress or worried, but inappropriately make it your problem. If your dog has this, you need to tell him or her, “”Go On” and get a life and get used to not being with Mommy constantly.”

The dog doesn’t need therapy or Prozac, it needs to “Go On” and get a life and do what you say. Why? Because you say so. Remember, this is obedience, “You need to look, think and feel what I tell you because I say so. I know what is best for you and you need to trust me. I insist.”

Just as your dog is born knowing only life, you must teach him that you are not the only thing in the universe that matters. It is kind of hard to teach a dog autonomy when you can’t tell him to “Go On” and keep away from you.

The best dog training method is the one that actually works.

We teach techniques and make the dog owner the dog trainer. We teach clients proper posture, timing, body language, voice tonation, inflection and attitude. We make sure the dog does everything for the client. It doesn’t matter if we can train your dog. What matters is your dog responding for you.

It is important to calm your dogs’ mind so you and your dog(s) can hang out together without all the yelling and constant correcting bad behavior.

What we do is more about who you are to your dog versus how much time you spend on training and conditioning.

checkmark2 95% of the problems people have with their dogs are about relationship out of whack and inconsistent leadership in the household

checkmark2 Leadership is also the key to dog owners controlling their animal’s instinct and genetics. You are not a leader, and only deluding yourself if you think you are, if your dog will not lie “Down” from 20 feet and “Stay” for 20 minutes (submissive) and “Heel” with the front paws at least 12 inches behind your feet (subordinate)

checkmark2 We are primarily behavior trainers. What that means is that there is not going to be any real obedience unless your dog stops jumping on people, whining, and not being really, really pushy and demanding.

The original Better Dog Training Demo Team.

Most dog trainers are no better at training dogs than you are. . .

People call and write from all over the world asking, “We had two, three, even four and five trainers out, how come nothing is working?” Because the dogs doesn’t “Down-Stay” and/or “Heel” is why. That, and the dog does not like being told the “Go On” command.

checkmark2 The dog is not on “Heel” if you complain about dog or people-aggression while on leash. We never before saw a dog get aggressive behind the owner, aggressive dogs are always in front of the owner and the person can’t back the dog down. ALWAYS!

Forget about behavior problem solving if your dog will not “Down,” and “Stay” for 30 minutes to an hour and will not walk behind you or go away if you say “Go On”–basic fundamentals of dog training and obedience.

Most dog trainers euphemize their inability to get your dog on “Heel” and turn that into a positive selling point by calling it “Loose-Leash Walking,” the dog can walk in front as long as it is not pulling or they call “Loose-Leash Walking” “Heel” mistakenly. Pausing a minute or two with no distractions is passed off as “Stay.”

This is why most dog trainers don’t have hardly any pictures to show you of dogs off-leash and don’t have many successes you can see with your eyes. “Sounds good” is a lot different than “Wow! Look at these pictures of dogs.” The rubber hits the road in your checkbook when the training doesn’t work. Then you have to hire another trainer. Many sincere dog owners have paid three and four dog trainers and behaviorists and still are NOWHERE.

If your dog trainer can’t get dogs on “Heel,” “Down,” “Stay” and to do “Go On” they are not having any more success than most dog owners on their own—who usually don’t have many pictures of well-trained dogs to proudly display either.

It is very important to teach your dog to wait and be very calm.

Our big secret is we get dogs to be good citizens and relax around their people first.

Certain things have to happen or you can forget about having an obedient dog.

If the dog will not “Down” and “Stay” for 20 minutes or longer, it is not submissive. If it won’t walk unrestrained behind you, without you having to use prong collars, choke chains or head halters, it is not subordinate to you.

Don’t forget to teach your dog that being obedient and performing commands is the most wonderful thing in the world or your dog will look like Archie the Border Collie Mix on the right. Archie mostly cares about the ball. Our program is dog psychology, following through, and getting dogs to want to be good.

checkmark2 PHILOSOPHY

You will never get Off-Leash Obedience or control with Food-Bribery You need to win psychologically, manage the dog correctly, follow through with commands every time and form a love bond with the dog. Compulsion and Food-Bribery are not enough. You need to get the dog to want to cooperate just because the dog loves you and trusts you.

A realistic and effective dog training program!

No other pet dog trainer in North America is going to have anything remotely close to what you see here. If you are going to spend money on dog training with someone else it doesn’t make sense because we have something that is a million times better that ALWAYS COSTS LESS because it actually works. Look at the pictures.

What you see in the dogs’ eyes is what makes the Superdog method different.

How to train dogs using The Canine Spatial Relationship?

“Your dog decides to listen to you based where the dog is in relationship to you, and everything else.”

Dogs have a Spatial Relationship with others.

The first thing you need to understand about this is:

1. The proximity of one dog to another,

2. who is higher or lower,

3. who is in front or in back,

often determines who is the more “Dominant” dog.

4. Dogs control other dogs by getting them to “Come,” “Stay,” “Go Away,” leave something alone “Leave It“, make other dogs lay down, make dogs get up, and get them behind on what I call “Heel.”

If you could make your dog do all these things, your dog would be good for you, you would not need a dog trainer, and your dog would do what you say and respect you.

My whole dog training system is based on having the right kind of Spatial Relationship with your dog, not corrections, positive or negative reinforcement, or domination.

No other dog trainer in North America uses my method. That is why none of the other dog trainers have photos of 100’s of dogs they trained off-leash.

The dogs “Come” when called and don’t run away.

The dog can “Stay” even with Mimi Huun and Kiki Puun teasing  him.

The dogs “Go On” away from you and disengage.

This is useful if you are eating dinner or running a chain saw and need your dog away from you.

If you can’t make your dog go away from you a minimum of ten feet and get it to disengage and leave you alone, you are wasting your time.

Either you can make your dog go ten feet away from you and stay away from you, or you cannot.  There is no in-between.  You can do that or you can’t.

When given the “Go On” command, the dog needs to accelerate away from you in the direction you say.

You dog running down the street away from you is not “Go On.” It is your dog running away from you.

You should be able to get your dog to leave things alone like people dancing at street festivals.

“Mister Puppy” the Tibetan Mastiff was only 17 weeks old in these photos.

We use the “Leave It” command to get dogs to leave things alone.

You can get a Chihuahua and teach it all the same things, except most people are not afraid of Chihuahuas.

If your dog will not “Heel” it is not subordinate to you. Dogs walk single file with the leader in front.

You can forget about any kind of meaningful obedience, behavioral problem solving, or off-leash obedience if you cannot make your dog walk behind you.

Having the dog walk at your side is a totally inadequate substitute for being able to make your dog walk behind you.  Dogs pretty much walk singe-file with the leader in front.

Once you get your dog trained, you can make your dog walk in front, in back, at your side, or wherever you want.

We train dogs psychologically with the minimum amount of force so we have a consistent message about who is in charge.

If you can’t get your dog to walk behind you six feet as a training exercise, you are just pretending to go through the motions of training your dog.

Remember, Dog training is controlling where the dog is at.

Dogs untrained fight over who is in front. Your dog has little, or no, respect for you if it demands or insists on walking in front of you.

If you allow your dog to walk in front of you, you are giving the dog mixed signals about who is in charge.

Leadership is the only thing we know of that works to control a dog’s instinct and genetics.

There won’t be any Leadership unless:

1) The dog will go 6 to 10 feet away from you and disengage contact,

2) The dog will hold a “Down-Stay” for 30 minutes to an hour, and

3) “Heel” with the nose behind your leg and will even walk 3 to 6 feet back if asked.

There is not going to be significant Obedience or behavior problem solving if your dog won’t do three things. There is no in-between, either the dog does these or not.

*To accomplish the mandatory obedience benchmarks mentioned typically takes about three private lessons.

If you are not winning psychologically, then all you are left with is force, coercion and/or bribing with food and toys.

How To Train Dogs Using Hypnosis?

Imagine if you could freeze time and even if your dog was mid-air you could get him to decide to obey what you say instantly as if everyone’s lives counted on it.

I do this by INDUCING A HYPNOTIC STATE with a dog training method from Europe that uses hypnosis and somnambulism.  The method I use to train dogs has been passed down from generation to generation.

All the photos and videos on my website are to show the public THE MOST AMAZING DOG TRAINING METHOD ever developed.

I can’t give away everything because you want to give me money, but read what I say about how my dog training method using hypnosis works.

My dog training method using hypnosis utilizes HYPNOTIC INDUCTION

I use a number of techniques to induce dogs into the hypnotic state, but the main one I use involves first getting the dog to stop small muscle movements.

I get the dogs to stop and their eyes to quit looking around.  The dog doesn’t need to stare at me, but instead needs to pay attention to me.  I call it “Neutral.”

There is no “Neutral” command and this is all done non-verbally.

Even if your dog was in mid-air or 100 feet away it will do everything you say.

Before I tell you the SECOND PART of the INDUCTION. . .

Notice how if you look at every other dog trainer website in North America only a couple other dog trainers have anything remotely close to what you see in my photos and videos.

If there were something better that what I am doing I would drop what I am doing and do what they are doing instead. I only mention it because I have never seen anyone get better results overall with dogs than me.

David Baron the Dog Trainer 2012-image.

The second part of the induction is I get LARGE MUSCLES to let go and relax.

Once I go through the induction and deepening process with the dog I can relax and activate dogs’ small and large muscle groups at will, both audibly and visually.

Not only can I relax the dogs’ muscles and activate them, I can slow and accelerate muscle groups using this dog training method.

So how I get large muscle relaxation is using the “Down” or “Stand-Stay” commands.

Don’t be fooled.  “Sit-Stay” is an inadequate substitute for “Down.”  “Sit” is a sprinter position where the dog can run and chase prey.

If the dog will only “Sit” and not do “Down” means the dog is not ‘submissive’ to you, period.  You haven’t convinced your dog of anything if you can’t get it to lay down and stay for a significant period of time.

“Significant period of time” means an hour since all my clients can get their dog to stay for an hour on the second visit to my dog training facility in Roseville, California.

Either the dog can stay still for an hour or it can’t. Again, all my clients can make their dogs stay for an hour after the second lesson.

The DEEPENER I use is to simply to make the dogs do down.  They go deeper and deeper into a trance, becoming more and more compliant and focused on doing what I say, waiting patiently for ‘that instant in time’ where Dave gives THE COMMAND.

The fossil is 350-500 million years old, but most dog training methods take almost as long to work.  If you and your dog live to 100 years, that is not enough time to get your dog trained.  I’m not making this up.  Really.

Most of my clients are like you though and you want to pay me to show you something where your dog is totally compliant like mine in a few lessons.

Mister Puppy moults and his hair comes out in chunks.

The big puppy gets pretty skanky-looking in early summer.

A lot of hair comes off when Misty Puppy is combed.

Imagine your dog looking like Mister Puppy in just a few lessons.  My website has lots of other dogs on “Stand-Stay” in the pool too.

This is after just a couple lessons of training.  Really.  I have Chihuahuas and other little dogs doing the same thing.

You don’t have to own a Pit Bull or German Shepherd if you want a well-trained dog.

I don’t mean to brag, but this is the kind of dog training where the people are standing around with their mouths open dumbfounded because they never saw anything like it before and are astounded.

My clients are blown away in the first lesson.

With my method, you pay me money cheerfully and right away you get your money’s worth, what the whole program costs, in the first lesson.

You do what I say and you will get the same results as I do with dogs.  I told you everything you need to know on this page to have a perfectly trained dog.  You have to be able to implement what I told you though.

Most people can’t stop anything on their dog and need help to get it trained.

Call me or one of my trainers and we will show you something you will be very happy with and it will be a big relief finally having what you want.

Mister Puppy cools off in the pool on a hot afternoon.

Everyone wishes they were here, but the road is narrow and everyone has to make their own choices about who they are going to listen to.

Occasionally, you run across something unbelievably wonderful and things turn out better than you could have ever imagined, and the price you pay is small compared to the alternatives.

How to get your dog Off-Leash Obedient?

Kyla’s owners could not take their Egyptian Ibizan to the beach without her stealing flip-flops from peoples’ towels on the sand and running around with them and not listening.

Most people reading this would never even dream of taking their dog to the beach and letting it off the leash because it would run away.

Just means that your dog does not run off and comes when called.

I tell people that the typical level of obedience they can hope to expect to achieve with my Superdog program would be them able to wash their car with their dog off-leash, or able to have their dog on a “Down-Stay” for an hour or longer when friends visit their house or in a crowded hotel lobby.

If someone has children, they should be able to have the kids and dog play in the front yard without fear that the dog will run down the street.

People call and say they want just “Basic Obedience,” but when I ask them if they want their dog to come to them even if it is not on a leash, the answer is always, “Yes.” Either a dog is trained, is obedient and listens—or it is not. There is not a whole lot of in-between.

The Superdog program does not have Level I, II and III’s because I do not know how to half-train a dog.

Egyptian Ibizan

I have a relationship with my dogs based on respect and trust where the dog does things for the right reasons. My dogs love me and know I will take care of them. If I say, “No,” they listen. Who I am to my dog is everything.

Before I can tell you how to be who I am to dogs we need to discuss what “Attitude’ means. When you have the right attitude you think, act, move the way you should, and your posture, timing, body language and voice will all be in accordance. If you have the wrong attitude, who you are to your dog will not seem believable or worthy of respect.

The dog training system I use and teach is all about the right attitude. Although there are a few techniques, none matter if the person or dog has the wrong attitude. There are only a few commands or techniques: the dogs just do not run away, come when called, listen and do a few basic commands like “Come” and “Stay.”

I get off-leash obedience out of my dogs because we have a relationship where everyone has the right attitude. Like anything in life, one cannot affect much change without having the right attitude first.

I probably have the right attitude when everything is easy and there are no problems and life is carefree and rewarding. When I have the right attitude I have a bright future and everything under the stars and heavens to look forward to—and the dogs do everything just the way they should.

And If I could just be honest enough while training and practicing with my dogs then I could know everything there is to know about dog training. It is like being almost blind and then putting on glasses and seeing everything perfectly clear when I am totally honest my dog. When I am honest with myself I have all the right information.

Some people it takes a little longer to get their dog trained because being honest is not just a character trait but also a skill that can only be cultivated through time and a lot of practice with their dog. I am talking about the skill of gaining clarity through being very honest about why the dog acts the way it does and what they need to do about it. Everyone has their own level of expertise in being honest with themselves in different areas. So the question of when will the dog get trained depends on when, and if, someone gets honest enough to be able to have the right kind of relationship with their dog. That there is a relationship implies a certain level of honesty exists.

If your dog is not as trained as you would like, you need the kind of clarity that can only be gained by self-reflection during interaction with your dog. This clarity can only be obtained by being very honest while practicing dog obedience and in everyday interaction.

My job is to lead dog owners in the right direction in that regard.

beautiful sight hound image

Training is a series of choices. You need to make the good ones wonderful and the bad ones not good or even lousy. The problem is that dog owners often make the good ones lousy and the bad ones rewarding. They do things like scream “Sit” at their dog or pet them when they jump on people. The message you give your dog needs to be the right one and you need to be sure your dog receives the message you intend.

Children do not listen either, but parents have consequences like time outs, taking away privileges, etc. Dogs quickly correct other dogs with their voice and act quickly to set other dogs straight if necessary. One dog attacks another dog for an instant and one minute later they are playing with the ball. Dogs do not punish each other, so we do not punish dogs either, we correct them. The correction I use is “No.”

The key to whether your dog will listen or not often depends on how motivating your “No” is. If your “No” is not believable, unconvincing and weak it is not motivating. Keeping this in mind, you don’t need to be as motivating or convincing if your dog is submissive and subordinate, and you have the dogs focus.

You can forget about being motivating if your dog does not even hear you. “Trained” means your dog focuses on you. Dogs in a pack do not run after all the animals, they go after the one the leader chooses.

Either your dog is focused on you or it is probably not focused on you. There are no doggie lifeguards because all the dogs would drown except one or two. As where people can keep track of a lot of things at one time, dogs cannot. If your dog is not focused on you, you can probably forget about much off-leash obedience.

I see a lot of people telling their dog “Sit” over and over and it is not even focused on them at all. They would not talk to a person that was blowing them off, but they do it with their dog. With a dog, it is no different from a parent turning off the TV before they tell the kids to do their homework and do chores. Do not give your dog commands if it is blowing you off. The first thing before you even give a command is everything need to come to a complete stop.

Waiting around for the dog to be good is NOT what I am talking about. Many people wait for their dog to be good. I make them stop and listen. I do that by either saying something like “Hey, Hey, Hey” or making the dog stop and look at me by demanding its attention by putting it on command.

If your dog does not obey you when it hears “No” it is more than likely because you are unable to back your dog down. If you told a child to put down a cookie jar and the child ignored you, you would need to back the kid down to get her to comply. With dog training it is no different.

Generally, when a dog tells another dog “No” it is accompanied by movement and the dog backs the other dog down. People often just stand there screaming “No” and it does not get an effect. For “No” to be effective it must be accompanied with movement, someone moving forward, someone moving back.

I teach the command “Go On” where the dog goes at least six to 10 feet away and disengages to condition the retraction response. This is the hardest thing for me I teach.

sacramento bridge image

Many people have been taught and/or conditioned to be non-confrontational and are loath to change. I do not ask my clients to change themselves. I say things like they need to move forward and back up their dog when they say “No.” In this case, that the person moves forward when they say “No” makes it confrontational. Another way to say it would be that the person becomes confrontational by virtue of moving forward while saying “No.”

It does not matter what your dog knows if you do not have the right kind of relationship based on certain objective benchmarks. Some people go to dog training for years and have little to show for it.

If you do not work with your dog, and if it will not walk and keep itself behind you subordinately, if it will not submissively hold “Down-Stay” for an hour, and if it will not go away ten feet and disengage when you tell it to—you can forget about off-leash dog obedience.

Either your dog can do the things listed in the last paragraph or it cannot. Many people think that can make up for not demanding standards by loving their dog even more to make up for not really working with it. Trust me on this. No one loves their dogs more than me and how I love them is by doing the right things with them. Affection is only one of the ways I love my dogs.

Dave & Niki image

I cultivate a spatial relationship with my dogs. Where the dog is in proximity to me determines what kind of relationship I have with the dog. The dog needs to come when I call it, stay when I say, hold its distance behind me when we walk, not crowd, block or lean on me, and go away quickly and disengage when I say to.

Dog owners say that their dog runs away from them and does not listen. Some dogs like how Kyla was will steal things from people and run loose and make you catch them. Then they almost always say that they want to get their dog back under control when the dog goes off, gets an attitude, or gets loose and runs.

You probably cannot regain control of your dog if you never had it in the first place. Well, you might be able to, but it will be a lot harder than having your dog under control and maintaining control.

The Ibizan Hound is also called Podenco Ibicenco. The body is fine boned and slender. The head is long and narrow with a long muzzle that tapers to a point, giving the appearance of a cone. It has a very small stop. The nose is a rosy flesh color. The teeth meet in a scissors bite. The small eyes are a clear amber to caramel in color. The erect ears are large and pointed. The neck is long, slender and slightly arched. The back is level and straight. The chest is long and deep. The front legs are straight.

The Ibizan Hounds, sometimes called “Beezers” by their fanciers, are quiet, clean, playful and polite. Good with children, gentle, sensible and sensitive. Protective and somewhat independent. They will hold back watchfully with strangers. Once they decide the stranger means no harm, they will relax very quickly.

This breed is said to have been used to hunt by the pharaohs of Egypt. Sculptures and paintings from ancient Egyptian tombs around 3000 B.C. depict a dog bearing a striking resemblance to the Ibizan hound. This was discovered in 1922, when the tomb of Tutankhamon was excavated. In the eighth century B.C., Phoenician and Libyan merchants took this Egyptian dog on a ship to present Spanish Balearic Islands, where it was named after the island of Ibiza. The islanders kept these dogs away from the other breeds and bred them for hunting hare.ibizan

What is The Right Attitude For Dog Training?

What is The Right Attitude for Dog Training?

Even the most successful, cultured, sophisticated and educated dog owners often ask what is the right attitude for dog training.

I tell them that when someone has the right attitude for dog training, their voice, body language, posture and timing all match up, and that having the right attitude is essential for success in any field, especially dog training.

You need the right attitude for dog training.

My dog training method relies on the right attitude for dog training to communicate and get dogs to comply with what I ask of them.

I am not saying dogs communicate with each other this way too, just that my dog training method is, in large part, about people having the right attitude when interacting with their dog(s).

When I talk about the right attitude for dog training, I mean something much more subtle than someone ‘getting tough’, becoming a disciplinarian, or acting like they are resolute and steadfast with their dog.

Just like dog trainers give verbal dog training commands, such as Sit , Down, Stay and Heel, I give dogs commands both verbally, but moistly non-verbally.

An example, would be moving forward, rather than backwards, if a dog were to challenge or jump on me.  I might use a lower voice, not a high one, because the lower tones back dogs up, as where higher tones and pitch are for getting dogs to come forward. An attitude can be so much more subtle though, such as a only a mere shrug or a barely perceptible whisper.

cats and dogs

I personally never use profanity, but some people do because the words are emotionally charged.  There is another way that is just as effective as cussing.

I sometimes threaten my Tibetan Mastiff “Mister Puppy” with sending him to live with my in-laws if he barks too much.  I know that sounds stupid, but it is more about how the message is delivered than what I say.

9301 Duffy Lane, Roseville, CA 95747

I teach dog owners how to have a relationship with a lot of petting, loving and friendship where everyone trusts each other.

My dog training method does not believe in dominating dogs like the “dog behaviorist” on TV Cesar Millan, nor do I use Dominance-Submission models or Compulsion-Correction and shock collars to gain compliance like he does.

The proper attitude for dog training

The best dog trainer just happens to be the one getting all the results.

Anything you see on this website is typical results and what you can expect if you hire me.

My dog training is the one where people stand around on the first lesson with their jaws on the floor because the training is totally amazing and they just can’t believe how good the trainer is.

If you are not winning psychologically, then all you are left with is force, coercion and/or bribing with food and toys.

Anyone have Children and Dogs?

If you have children and dogs good dog training might be the best money you will ever spend.

A trained dog is not just about eliminating exposure, but also about getting the most enjoyment from your pet and not having to worry.

It is an animal with a mind of its own.

The only way you will be able to control the ‘instinct and genetics’ is with the right kind of relationship.

Look closely at these photos with “Archie” the Border Collie and the toddlers.

That someone had dogs when they were a kid, is the manager at Jiffy Lube, coaches softball, or graduated from college and has a BMW is often woefully inadequate to get a dog trained when they are not even home and at work all week.

The family dog can be your best friend or make big trouble and cost you more than your worst enemy ever could.

Doing the right thing always costs less money in the long run.

Parents that do the right thing will always be able to look their children in the eye.

Millions of people have children and dogs successfully.

You want to hire the least expensive dog trainer where the training actually works.

Have you noticed yet that the other dog trainer websites generally do not have lots of photos of trained dogs like Superdog?

We encourage you to go with your gut instinct in regard to believing anyone who says they train dogs but does not have a lot of photos to show you.

No one hires the cheapest home improvement contractor with no photos of kitchens and bathrooms.

We like our Superdog program and there is a lot of petting, loving and affection and the dogs behave like in our 1000’s of photos.

We hang out with our dogs a lot and strive to have the right kind of relationship with them.

We live on a ranch with lots of dogs, but we teach you to get the same kind of results even if you only have one dog and live in an apartment.

Imagine hiring someone and years later realizing you got 1,000 times more than you ever could have imagined.

I personally guarantee that you will get the same results with your dog(s) as you see in this website if you do what my trainers and I tell you. David Baron.

Who offers the best dog training available at any price?

Can you think of a reason why you could not have a dog as good or better than any you see on this website or our Facebook?

The best dog training is the one that actually works.

Before you spend a lot of money on dog trainers, you better make sure their dog training actually works.

There is no in-between with VALIDITY. Something does what they say it can, or it does not.

There is no in-between with RELIABILITY.  Something works over and over, or it does not.

There is no in-between with INTEGRITY. Someone is really who they say they are, or they are not.

David Baron Superdog

Either someone can substantiate that the dog training actually works or they cannot.  There is no in-between.

Either someone has 1000’s of photos of 100’s of dogs they trained to substantiate that the dog training works, OR THEY DO NOT.

If you are considering hiring a dog trainer in Sacramento or where you live, you need to ask if the dog training method will actually work with your dog, or make your dog’s behavior problems even worse.

Legitimate dog trainers don’t bribe with food.

Shock collars, a dog training tool of last resort, are not supposed to be a dog training method, nor a substitute for having a relationship.

Having a relationship is not about dominating or correcting your dog.

THINK ABOUT IT – David Baron is the only dog trainer in California with 1000’s of photos of small dogs off-leash.

There is no time to run back in the house and get the treats before your dog runs in the street and gets run over by a car.

Who wants a dog that won’t behave unless you bribe it with food anyway?

Small breeds are usually more stubborn, defiant and harder to train than large breeds, especially if they have been spoiled.

Food-Bribery does absolutely nothing to control bad puppy behavior.

Food-Bribery won’t work to control separation anxiety, destructive chewing and virtually every other behavior problem dog owners face.

There is something better. . . . . .
